Last month I did a post on Pain, Narcotics and Chronic Illness that was originally written by the National Institutes of Health.  I began that piece talking about Alex.  Surprise.  It was relevant because I spoke about how difficult it is for a mother of a child with chronic illnesses to watch him become dependent on narcotics at a young age.  It truly is heartbreaking.  The other important subject of that post that there have been studies recently on developing non-narcotic pain relievers.  Well, here is an article about that coming soon.
